When your facility depends on consistent hot water, every component in your system plays a critical role. That’s why Digital Flo® Steam/Water Heater package systems are engineered with precision—from the Bonomi valve and Valbia actuator on the hot water supply side, to the clear visual indicators that help you monitor performance at a glance.
That level of precision is what keeps your system running day after day—but even the most reliable setups can need a little attention. If your indicator shows the valve is open but no hot water is flowing, here’s how to get things back on track quickly and confidently.
Step 1: Power Down for Safety
First, turn off the power to the Brain. This action removes power from the Bonomi valve, causing it to close automatically. For reference, mark the shaft at the 3 o’clock position—this will help you track alignment during reassembly.
Step 2: Remove the Position Indicator
Using a 2mm Allen wrench, remove the position indicator from the front of the valve.
Step 3: Detach the Actuator
Remove the four nuts, lock washers, and bolts on either side of the stainless-steel bracket. The entire actuator will pull straight out, leaving only the shaft extension.
All that will be left is the shaft extension.
Step 4: Adjust the Shaft
With the actuator removed, use a wrench to turn the shaft 90 degrees (direction doesn’t matter). This adjustment corrects the ball valve’s position.
Step 5: Reassemble the Actuator
Carefully reassemble the actuator, ensuring the shim is in the correct position to match the shaft. The shim is a loose piece—make sure it sits flush in the gear.
Step 6: Secure Everything
Reinsert the shaft into the shim and reattach the four bolts, lock washers, and nuts.
Step 7: Final Checks
Reattach the red indicator on the front of the valve in the closed position. Then, turn the power back on to the Brain. The valve will open, and hot water will flow into the system as intended.
Why This Matters
A properly set up ball valve ensures your Digital Flo® system operates efficiently, optimizing resources and delivering reliable hot water—every time. This is just one example of how our proven process creates powerful results for your facility.
